Artist Roy Carr has lived in Port Orchard for over 20 years. Roy studied art while attending college in Sacremento California and currently specializes in seascapes. He has been influenced by the techniques of E. John Robinson, Roger W. Curtis and Borlase Smart, and is continually researching seascape art. Roy takes frequent trips to the Washington coast to photograph and sketch our magnificent coastline. He is a true student of seascapes and has been for many years.
Roy is currently president of the South Kitsap Artists and has been an active member of this group for many years. He has been the art superintendant for the Kitsap County Fair since 1989. His work has been on display at the Sidney Gallery, Amy Burnett contemporary Gallery and many local shows.
Carr's limited pallet seascapes show a remarkable wave transparency with the sun's rays projecting through them. His realistic rock formations reflect the rugged Washington coast.
